HEY Grants Round 16

Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic), in partnership with the Victorian Government, is proud to open Round 16 of the Healthy Equal Youth (HEY) Grants! 

The HEY Grants are an annual small grant round for projects and initiatives aimed at supporting Victorian LGBTIQA+ young people’s mental health and wellbeing and community connection.

You can apply for up to $10,000 in funding for your project from the HEY Grants, not including funding received from other grants or sources. 

Which stream to apply for:

The HEY Grants have two funding streams (or categories), 'Youth-Led Projects' or 'Social Connectedness Projects', with up to $100,000 in total funding available.

There is a separate application form for each funding stream; one for Youth-Led Projects, and one for Social Connectedness Projects.

Both application forms have the same 4 Key Criteria Questions, however the questions are weighted differently depending on which stream you applied for. 

Youth-led projects are for:

• LGBTIQA+ young people under the age of 25
• Living in Victoria
• Who have an idea for a project to support your LGBTIQA+ peers to feel pride in their identity and/or connected to community!

A youth-led application must come from and be led by people who are under 25; this means the young person will make decisions about the project, including how funding is spent!

If you're an LGBTIQA+ young person, you can get people older than 25 to proofread and help with your application and project.

The YACVic Team will also be available to provide support to all Round 16 projects!

Social Connectedness projects are for:

• LGBTIQA+ youth organisations, services or programs
• Mainstream organisations, services or programs looking to expand support or remove service access barriers for LGBTIQA+ young people through targeted projects 

All Social Connectedness projects must involve consultation with LGBTIQA+ young people and opportunities to meaningful participate and influence decisions throughout the project.
